Christmas Carol 2k16

Last Saturday (17 Dec 2016) the CHS Harmonica and Guitar Band had performed in One Utama shopping centre, LG Oval for Christmas Carol. We had performed five songs including one acapella song, That's Christmas to Me by Pentatonix.

History of Harmonica and Guitar Band

Before the year 1981, we had only a basic harmonica class. We were only one of the units in the Chinese Society. After some time, of course, we started to improve. We took steps to organize our very own Harmonica Club. In the year 1981, we also had our own teacher for this club. He came from Singapore. But four years later, our club had a misfortune of losing a good teacher as he had to go back to his home land due to some personal reasons. Nevertheless, we continued practising by ourselves.

However, since 1986, we have been lucky to have Mr. Lee Nam Saw as our harmonica teacher. He has been teaching us for 12 years. Then, we began to have the guitar class. Hence, our club is now known as Harmonica and Guitar Club. At the end of the year 1996, we changed our name to Harmonica and Guitar Band. Now, we even have our own room for practice. Aren't we lucky? We have been very successful in competitions and have tremendouesly improved in our performance and so has our membership, we have 90 members now in our band! After that, we also have our own drum set, which is constantly used in accompaniment with our harmonicas and guitars.
